What I’m up to now.

Building, listening, and making room to write things down.

Building

Working on Protocol.

Most of my work is centered on Protocol, the company I’m building with Brian Alvarado. I work on the product experience and the storytelling behind it.

The question I keep coming back to: how can we help a service business owner share the work they’re already doing, without giving them another job to manage?

Listening

Talking with owners.

I’m interviewing the people behind local service businesses and writing for Protocol’s publication. I’m interested in the decisions, care, and small details that can get lost when a business is reduced to a list of services.

Listening to someone describe their work is still one of my favorite parts of what I do.

Writing

Keeping a notebook.

I’m making a home here for notes about storytelling, software, and building a company. The notebook is where those thoughts go as I work through them.

I’m also starting a friends page, a small collection of people and their corners of the web.

This is a now page, a snapshot of what has my attention these days.
